Cats Protection Lifeline
Helping people escape domestic abuse by offering their cats a safe, temporary home.
We were thrilled when Cats Protection asked us to head to their Glasgow Cat Centre to learn more about their Lifeline service.
Laura, our grants and partnerships manager, said she had the most amazing day. “Visiting Cats Protection Glasgow was a touching experience. It was heartbreaking to meet the Lifeline team and hear about the cats who had been caught in the crossfire of domestic abuse. Yet, amidst the sadness, there is hope.
The Lifeline service, which offers free and confidential fostering for these cats, offers a genuine lifeline to both the animals and their human families. These cats are loved and cared for in a safe environment until their families are back on their feet.
Knowing that these cats will be reunited with their loving owners is a wonderful feeling, and we’re so glad that the Pets Foundation could contribute towards this project.”
Our grant funding of £315,000 over three years meant that Lifeline could expand into areas that had never had this kind of support. And while we dream of a world where this service isn’t needed, thanks to the generous donations of our supporters, we can continue to provide a safety net for pets and their owners during difficult times.
