Making a Difference, One Cat at a Time: Cramar Cat Rescue’s Success Story
In December 2022, we were proud to award Cramar Cat Rescue and Sanctuary a grant of £13,235 to support their vital veterinary care needs. This grant has already positively impacted the lives of countless cats like Pascal.
Founded in 1987, Cramar Cat Rescue dedicates itself to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming stray and abandoned cats and kittens in the West Midlands. Their commitment to these felines is genuinely inspiring.
Pascal’s Path to Health
Pascal, a young cat who arrived at the rescue in need, exemplifies the incredible work Cramar Cat Rescue does. When she came to the sanctuary, she was just 18 months old, heavily pregnant, and with a spinal cord injury that impacted her mobility. Despite these challenges, she successfully delivered six healthy kittens. Sadly, due to her condition, Pascal was unable to nurse them. That’s when the dedicated Cramar team stepped in, hand-rearing all six kittens until they were ready for loving forever homes.
Following the birth, Pascal developed acute mastitis, a serious health concern. Her condition was touch-and-go for a while, but thanks to the tireless efforts of the Cramar team and several rounds of treatment, she gradually recovered. While she regained most of her mobility, her tail unfortunately required amputation.
Today, Pascal is a vibrant and curious cat living her best life in a loving forever home—all thanks to the care she received at Cramar Cat Rescue and the Foundation grant.
