Strength and Learning Through Horses – Grant Impact Update
Last year, we gave Strength and Learning Through Horses £15,600 to run two equine therapy programmes, each lasting 6 weeks. The London based charity uses equine therapy to help children and young adults struggling with mental health issues and learning difficulties.
They’ve returned a report on the first of the two courses. Five young people attended; some in the care system had experienced trauma or bereavement. By the end of the course, one selectively mute participant had started positively engaging with their peers. Another took on a leadership role for the first time. Others displayed improved mood, increased confidence, and became more talkative.
We love to see the impact our grants make, which help improve people’s lives through pets. If you want to learn more about our grant programme, have a look here.
